TONIGHT... Native Plant Seed Propagation Workshop Take home 6 different wild flowers sown in propagation flats w/covers. We still have openings and would love to have you join us...
Dr. Randi Eckel, owner of Toadshade Wild Flower Farm in New Jersey makes using native plants in your garden just a little bit easier. Join the Hardy Plant Society & Randi as her photographs demonstrate her discussion of interesting native plant propagation techniques. Learn a bit about why native plants are important to our local ecosystem.. and how each species she highlights is best propagated and grown for use in your own garden. Attend the workshop to experience hands-on what certain seeds look like, how they are best prepared for sowing, and details of propagation protocols for specific species. Workshop: Everyone will go home with 6 different wildflowers all planted and ready to grow in small flats with a clear propagation dome. The workshop fee covers supply costs(flats, inserts, soil, seeds, markers, covers).
Having a workshop is a new feature with a new location for the Workshop: The Wethersfield Academy for the Arts. We are starting a bit earlier... 6:30 p.m. for socializing, goodies, signing up for our March into Spring Symposium on March 7th and finalizing workshop registrations. At 7 p.m. we will have a short sharing interlude & business meeting. Then the lecture with workshop to follow.
Visit to see the native plants or seed that Randi might bring. Toadshade is a mail-order only nursery. Thus meeting and talking with Randi about Native Plants is quite a rare event.... Come have fun and a great experience... Go home with propagation set-ups for growing your own seedling plugs and a feeling that "Spring is Just Around the Corner... I have plants that are waiting to replenish my garden!!"
